Tonight’s entry will be short. It’s not that there isn’t much to say. To the contrary. There’s a lot. But our team is so small that it is just hard to find the time to share everything that should be shared in a timely manner. I hope, in the next day or so, to have a dedicated area on the webpage for reporting and updates on the Flash Flood Relief and Recovery effort. In it I will be able to provide links to the various documents and reports that we’re preparing to try and keep donors and partners advised as to what is happening. We want to be as open and accountable as we can and that begins with sharing and reporting. More to come. In the meanwhile, though, let me just note that for our two initial relief movements, we managed to reach approximately 3000 displaced and at need people — approximately 700 families. There’s much more detail to share about all this and we’ll be posting those documents soon, as I said. But, have no doubt, the our HomeNet Nepal team, the team from Fusion Nepal, our youth volunteers, and all those who joined in the effort made us proud. Their commitment, unflagging determination to get help to those in need, and their courage and compassion as they dealt with considerable hazards to get the job done, deserves recognition. Their road ahead will be long, but we’re already planning next steps and expanding our partnership networks. So grateful for the tremendous folks who have joined hands with us. More to come. Promise.
